Continuing Congratulations (or not)

I would like to extend my congratulations to our fine Maintenance Management team that is currently headed by Lee Miller (directed behind the scenes by Charles Sweet)for their unswerving bullheadedness and blind loyalty to the inane ideas that show lack of forethought and inspiration.

Like right now all indications are that they are planning to move the 5 junior ET's from Tour 2 MLS P&DC to Tour 1 MLS P&DC. Why should management be doing this? What reason do they have for it? The current maintenance window for the AFCS's is for Tour 2 to do the work. So with 5 fewer ET's available on Tour 2 to do maintenance work on the AFSM, TACS, Merlin, AFCS, DIOSS, DBCS's, and CIOSS how will this affect the other ET's on Tour 2? What will the ET's that are going to be moved to Tour 1 be working on? Will it be the AFSM or doing area assurance on the automation letter sorting machines at MLS? Who knows what management has in store for them?

So my condolence's go out to the five ET's who management is looking at moving to Tour 1 that I have listed below:

1. Espiritu
2. James
3. Abalos
4. Abraham
5. Hoang

If I have made any errors on this posting please either contact me at MLS or leave a correction on the blog.

Morning to everyone,

Lovely weather here in Oklahoma. Got up this morning to find it raining and now it is already humid with the sun being out going to the mid 90's.

I know I have been talking mainly about maintenance here in the blog recently. I would wish for some of the clerks and mail handlers would add their two cents into this discussion. It is always good to here from others.

Now, along with that would it not be nice to hear from our own management with factual information. Even if they are unable to put their actual name to a posting.

Hello, Anonymous August 3, 2009 7:17 PM

I just read about everyone getting those letters. Now the questions I am asking is this for all maintenance craft employees and all tours? Or is this just something that is going to be effective at MLS P&DC and not at Midway? My recollection is that we are "one" maintenance department. Also if everyone's hours are going to be changed does this mean that the employee's on the 4/10 schedule will now revert to just a 5/8 like everyone else?

Senate Bill 1507 Would Destroy
Collective Bargaining. GO to APWU.org and follow the link. Send a Message To Your Political Representatives and tell them HELL NO!!!!!

(08/06/09) In testimony before a Senate subcommittee, APWU President William Burrus denounced a provision of Senate bill 1507, which he said would destroy the collective bargaining process.

Burrus reminded the panel that under the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970, postal workers yielded their right to strike in exchange for the promise of free collective bargaining with binding arbitration.

“Collective bargaining is either free or it’s not,” he asserted, saying that Sen. Coburn’s amendment would put “a thumb on the scale” for management during contract deliberations.

If it passes Lets strike!!!!!!
