AutoPilot....

Seems that I have been neglecting this blog for awhile. Yes, I have... I completely admit it. Been taking the time to say good bye to friends who have been excessed from MLS and others who have become part-time regulars instead of having to relocate and move to other locations.

Also been trying to keep track of the comedy show that is going on in Maintenance. Especially since, Maintenance has taken 2 of operations finest(bullshit) into it. Talking with people from Maintenance I find it amusing that Gary Hill believes that he can run Maintenance like he has been running operations before. Has he not heard of the old adage "If it is not broke leave it alone".... I sincerely doubt that he has. Also, I see on Tour 2 that Veronica has stepped down from being a 204b due to not enough Support Clerks are available to do the work in Tool and Parts. I do give out a sincere support to Sandy Liss who is currently away due to illness. I wish her the best and for a speedy recovery.

Just a reminder for everyone... On Thursday, 21 May, there will be a General Membership meeting at the Local 197 in Mission Valley office at 6pm or 1800 to all you military types. Hope to see you all there... later

We need to show more sympathy for these people.
* They travel miles in the heat.
* They risk their lives crossing a border.
* They don't get paid enough wages.
* They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do.
* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language.
* They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day ~ every day.
*DHS calls them likely right-winged extremists!

I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans ~ I'm talking about our troops! Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops, and are even threatening to defund them?
Remember Our troops and the one that died for our freedom.

The "Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom and liberty. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember those Americans including our ancestors, family members, loved ones neighbors and friends who have paid the price for the blessings of liberty. Put out your flags and wave them, wear your flag pin. Show your support and remember the one's that gave there life for our freedom. The sun on their life has long set, but there deeds just shine for ever...

Morning,

Just to let you know I enjoyed the meeting yesterday. This is the second meeting I have been able to attend since Tom Wood has taken over from Cornelius. I found the meeting refreshing since it was held and run in a more democratic way. Unfortunately, because of this the meeting is just a little bit longer but I can accept that. Thanks to everyone who could attend and I look forward to seeing others there the next evening meeting I attend. I could not stay till the end I had to get back to MLS and go to work.

Thank you for your intelligent discourse. It is always a pleasure to converse with such knowledgeable people.

I assume you are referring to the July 14, 2008, $52 billion takeover by Belgian brewer InBev SA. [BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) - The maker of the King of Beers has agreed to go to work for the Belgian brewer InBev SA. Anheuser Busch Cos. said early Monday it had agreed to a sweetened $52 billion takeover bid from InBev, creating the world's largest brewer and heading off what was shaping up as an acrimonious fight for the maker of Budweiser and Bud Light beers. Inbev brands include Stella Artois, Beck's and Bass.]

This morning, from the AB website: "Today, Anheuser-Busch produces the two best-selling beers in the world, Budweiser and Bud Light; operates 12 breweries in the United States; and has operations around the globe."

So, where are the breweries and WHERE ARE THE JOBS?

By the way, that Steel Reserve is some pretty good shit, don't you think?

A Reflection on Memorial Day (2009)
by Bob Kerrey

I stand on a bluff in Normandy, France, overlooking the English Channel. The beach below was called Omaha. 9,387 white crosses mark the remains of young Americans killed here or in other places in France following the June 6, 1944, invasion. They're all dead. Another 1,557 names are on a wall here but their bodies could not be found. They're all dead, too. They did not come home to kiss their girlfriends or wives. Their children grew up without them. They did not enjoy the GI Bill. They did not build a new house. They did not see their commanding officer elected President twice. They never heard rock and roll. They didn't grow old.

Try to remember them today. Try to hear their youthful laughs. Try to know their fear. Try to feel their promise realized in your life, through your actions, your humility, your respect.

(Former Nebraska governor and US senator Bob Kerrey was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Bronze Star for his service during the Vietnam War. He is currently president of The New School university in New York City.)

A wave of controversy was stirred up by last week's release of the Department of Homeland Security's report on right-wing extremism and the domestic terror these "extremist" have, or will, bring to the table. The report nine pages in length, outlines the DHS's fears of how Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are
attractive to rightwing extremists. Bible beliveing “end times” prophecies violent Christian, Pro-life activists, and people opposing immigration are capable of severely violent acts.
Rightwing extremists were concerned during the 1990s with the perception
that illegal immigrants were taking away American jobs through their willingness to
work at significantly lower wages. They also opposed free trade agreements, arguing that
these arrangements resulted in Americans losing jobs to countries such as Mexico.

I was bad too I had American Flags on my toolbox!!

Will I'll let you read it all for your self. Just click on the heading. Domestic Terrorist

So what is going on in the maintenance dept. about the toolbox issue? I for one Do Not think it is right that you can not have a American Flag on your toolbox. This is still America Right!! WE have them every place here I have one on my mule let them try and To Take It OFF!! What's wrong with your union? I bet you can have a Obama sticker on there!!! If he heard about anyone taking his sticker off they would be fired I bet.

I too view with skeptism Gary Hill's detail into maintenance dept. He has a Napoleon syndrome, and he only thrives when he has subordinates, usually minority female types, who treat him like his you know what doesn't stink.

As long as he can maintain his tiny group of fawners, he will be fine, in his own mind.

Noticed that by coincidence (or not) a rehab has suddenly taken up residence from tour 2 (where she was his protected pet) to t-3, in the maintenance star-wars area.

Hmmm, I am wondering how she got that gig, when they are telling other rehabs who have been there longer, that there is no work available.

charles Sweet better watch out, because Gary Hill plays the sweetheart deal games too, and I don't know that there's room for 2 chiefs in that tent, doling out the deals to chickie-poos and relatives.

Far as I know, Gary Hill has another year or 2 to go, then he is outa here. I think the same goes for Charlie Sweet.

It will be good to have a house-clearin', won't it?

Hope I am still around to see it, but with things going like they are, I don't think a single one of us can rest easy these days.
