Happy Holidays to everyone.... I have been busy at work and at home this time of the year so I have not been posting anything. Right now I could post somethings about maintenance where I am working but I am not... why be so negative about what is going on at least during the holidays?
Right now the tree is up and house is decorated. I do have to admit only thing I did was get everything down out of storage. My wife and sons were the ones doing the actual decorating while I was at work that night. Such a nice thing to see when you get home from work twinkling in the dark.
Now a question to anyone still reading this... What should Santa bring all Postal Employees? Lump of coal... Pay Raise... Better management...More Mail... What?

Just taking a leak in the head at MLS, and was told that Sweet is being forced to retire. So I am wondering, what did he do that would force mgmt to finally make him walk? Is this because of nepotism? Or is it because of some shifty dealings in the bidding department? Or something else? Or all of the above?
Can someone verify this most interesting rumor?
Because we don't want to have the goodbye party prematurely.
Not sure if its true or not, but I heard it too, and I heard it from a supervisor!!!!!.
And with the complaining that I overheard over the cubicle wall by two certain mgmt people last week, I know that there are some that are not on the Sweet Christmas card list.
But they will make it look like he WANTED to retire.

could it be sweet questioned the lack of security at the MLS facility and is now in hot water?
because sweets wife let a fire alarm go off on the security console and just reset it without notifying anyone.
word has it that sweets wife can not get her support clerk duties completed and work the console at the same time.
or could it be that higher ups finally figured out that sweet promoted his wife over another support clerk?
I don't think it is right or fair to expect maintenance people to do their jobs AND do the security. it is stupid and not secure.
I am seriously worried about our security now that they have people in there who aren't trained and putting their full attention on that job.
And they shouldn't have to, its not their job. Bring back the postal police, like we used to have.
I got to say that if Sweet is being urged to leave, its only because there are probably lawyers or EEO people crawling up mgmt's behinds about some of the things Charley has done since he appointed himself the Darth Vadar of the Miantenance Department.
Well... to whomever decide to post about Sweet. That is interesting but is there any truth in it or is it just scuttlebutt?
Now myself, I am looking forward to becoming an ET in the near future. Just do not know what my days off or what tour I will be on. So bidding closes to day and by the 18th of December I will know.

I am asking around to see if I can get any facts, but so far, nothing solid. Wondering if Hill is going to pick up where Sweet left off.
I heard officially from tour 3 management tonight that Larry Belair is the Plant Manager, and Charles Sweet is the Area Maintenance mgr. They got the jobs officially today.
So, I think Charles is not retiring any time soon.
Wonder when he will find a cozy little spot for his wife up in mahagony row?
The final clean up has been accomplished on the ML Sellers Cafeteria. The restoration contractor removed all the debris and water from the cafeteria after a delivery contractor backed into a fire hydrant that caused flooding in both the cafeteria and kitchen areas. In addition to this work the contractor sanitized the cafeteria. All food and supplies were removed from the kitchen and this area was sanitized.
Phase two, requested funding from the FSO to complete the required repairs. Approximately one foot of dry wall was removed from all the cafeteria and kitchen walls. These walls were damaged by the water and debris from the fire hydrant. After the walls are repaired the floors in both the cafeteria and kitchen will be stripped and sealed. I do not have a firm date on the re-opening of the cafeteria.

Don't know much about Charles being forced out, but I did hear that he and Veronica came out of the closet and no longer hide the fact that they are an item.

Open Letter To The Plant Manager:
Why does Maintenance supervisor Ray Meanor have a white power arm in his office? A white mannequin's arm with a clenched fist that he proudly displays whenever he feels racially motivated and empowered? AND, why does he have a Nazi officer's picture put up in plain sight when you walk into his office? These two symbols of racial hatred might be explained away, somehow, if taken on their own. But when you combine the two hate symbols both into one Supervisors office you begin to see a more powerful message of racism clearly appearing that leaves very little to the imagination. Does Ray Meanor hate Blacks? Does Ray Meanor hate Jews? Is Ray Meanor a White Supremist? The proof is on display in his office. What deeply rooted feelings he must have, that as a so called "professional" supervisor, he thought that it was a good idea to bring his symbols of racial hatred and racial superiority to his job at the PO. It is EXTREMELY offensive and completely insensitive to ALL races. I find it disgusting and very sad.
When the ET's and Mechanics were threatened for displaying American flag stickers on their toolboxes... because the image of the American flag was considered so OFFENSIVE they had to be removed... how can you allow this so called "professional" supervisor to undermine your own Maintenance Dept. with this racist agenda? Maybe Ray Meanor needs some time on the beach to think about his level of racial insensitivity and professionalism... or the complete and utter lack of it. I find it hard to believe that in this modern day and age, when we have a Black president for the first time in history, that you would not take immediate action on this supervisor for his bringing this highly inflammatory and controversial racist agenda to MLS P+ DC and the Maintenance Dept. We have a job to do here, who needs this type of distraction, drama and garbage... from a supervisor? And...after all, it is Black History month.
...and rumor of the latest "rumor" is that the old inspector's offices are now being cleared of all that they left behind(which is everything)and handed over, at least in part, to a certain Area Maintenance Manager-who shall remain dear to all of our MLS (little and insignificant)hearts.

I have not seen the mentioned offensive items in Ray Meanor's office. I will have to take a look for myself. Having admitted my ignorance in this matter, I still have something to say about it. The writer of that post should go directly to EEO and file a complaint. An "open letter" to the plant manager on this site will get you butkiss. If what you describe actually exists, then Ray deserves a lengthy stay on the beach, or even removal. Get going and do this the right way and stop venting on a website seen by almost no one...
